Magik Markers

Magik Markers have been brutalizing audiences with their shattering live appearances and recordings the first part of this century. Elisa Ambrogio, Pete Nolan and Leah Quimby started the band in their basement in Hartford, Connecticut in 2001. After opening for Sonic Youth on their American tour in 2004, the band gained notoriety. Leah Quimby left in May 2006 and various people have filled in before they eventually settled as a duo composed of original members Pete and Elisa.

In September 2007, the band released Boss, which was produced by Lee Ranaldo. In 2009, they released Balf Quarry produced by Scott Colburn (Sun City Girls, Animal Collective, Sir Richard Bishop). They have recently recruited bassist John Shaw to join the group and plan to have a new record coming out on Drag City November 2013.
